Rappahannock-Rapidan Disability Services Board (RR-DSB)
RR-DSB's mission is to plan and advocate for persons of all ages in Madison, Orange, and Rappahannock counties who have physical and/or sensory disabilities and to fulfill the duties and responsibilities as specified under Virginia law. The board's vision is barrier-free communities supporting independent living and self-sufficiency for people with disabilities. To fulfill the mission and vision, RR-DSB determines the needs of area residents who have physical and/or sensory disabilities, raises local and state awareness of those needs and fosters innovations to include people with disabilities in mainstream community life.

RR-DSB's members are John McCarthy (Rappahannock County), Chairman; Philip Cooke (Orange County), Vice Chairman; Yogi Bear and William R. Welch (Rappahannock County); Bob Miller and Christine Miller (Madison County); and Eloise Poindexter and Rebecca Yellets (Orange County). The board's local Department of Rehabilitative Services liaison is Sharon Miller. RR-DSB meets quarterly. Meeting locations vary. Call 540.829.7450 to confirm meeting dates, locations and times.

Rappahannock-Rapidan Regional Commission
The Rappahannock-Rapidan Regional Commission serves the counties of Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange and Rappahannock, and the towns of Culpeper, Gordonsville, Madison, Orange, Remington and Warrenton. One of 21 regional commissions chartered by the Commonwealth of Virginia, the commission provides professional planning and technical resources, a concerted approach to regional cooperation, planning assistance with program delivery and a forum for the interaction of appointed and elected local government officials and citizen members.
