Youth Organizations
4-H h
The 4-H mission is to assist youths and adults working with those youths to realize their full potential — becoming effective, contributing citizens through participation in research-based, hands-on educational experiences. The 4-H program involves a vast array of opportunities to meet almost every need and interest of youths from all walks of life. 4-H participants are all youths, ages 5-18, taking part in programs provided by Virginia Cooperative Extension personnel in cooperation with volunteers. 4-H is community-centered, volunteer-led, extension staff-supervised, research-based, home- and family-oriented, publicly and privately funded, and responsive to change.
